We were late (so we thought at the time) getting there because we had gotten stuck on the highway just outside Boston on our way into the city due to the road flooding underneath an overpass during the violent storm we encountered. We were convinced we would miss the concert. We eventually got through and made it to the Music Hall and were surprised when the show had not even started yet. We just figured due to the extremely violent storm. that they show had been delayed as a courtesy because of the violent storm affecting others like ourselves being caught up in the weather and arriving late to the venue. It wasn't until years later that I learned that ABBA themselves had also been late getting there and their reason was MUCH more serious than being stuck in traffic. Looking back on it, you would have never known based upon their performance and particularly with Agnetha giving it her all and performing for the adoring fans showering her and the other ABBA members with love and appreciation (myself included in that audience). I recently found some photos I had taken during the concert and I can't believe just how close we were to the stage and to the members. There is one picture in particular which really brought back memories of that show, it's one of Frida wearing a Boston Bruins jersey for the "I Have A Dream" portion of the concert in which they brought out a group of local children to sing the kids choir portion of the song. I consider myself very, very lucky to be one of so few Americans who can say they saw ABBA live in concrert. I'm sure you feel the same.Jerry Chttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01956702031708200018noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4685728773150019829.post-28361418353126148372020-11-22T15:45:05.174-08:002020-11-22T15:45:05.174-08:00I just glad that ABBA made it safely through that ...I just glad that ABBA made it safely through that terrible storm. My understanding at the time was that the plane flew from New York to Boston, but that strong thunderstorms in Boston at the time of the plane's arrival had Logan Airport closed for a period of time. The plane then turned back to Hartford only to find Bradley Airport closed due to the tornado that ripped through there while ABBA was enroute to Boston. The plane then headed back to Boston, but low on fuel, ended up in Manchester NH.Rob Falkhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15025809346509161147noreply@blogger.com
